Job Description:
About the Role We are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team based in Royton, Oldham.
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician, you will be required to respond to breakdowns, carry out corrective tasks, and Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PPM’s) in accordance with all company policies and procedures on a daily basis whilst reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will work a 3 shift rotating pattern 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00, 22:00 - 06:00 (40 hrs/week)
Job Opportunity Purpose of the Job
*To provide both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service for all operational equipment and site facilities.
*To ensure all equipment is performing to the optimum levels.
*To ensure all equipment meets acceptable safety standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician
*Ensuring all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed safely, cost effectively, on time and to a satisfactory standard.
*Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager and being capable of acting as proxy if required.
*Providing a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to optimum performance levels and that all departmental Service Level Agreement’s and Key Performance Indicators are met.
*Reacting in a timely manner to maintenance requests.
*Following common processes and standards within the engineering department including Safety, Quality, Environment, and Security.
*Maximizing availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement.

Essential Skills BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
*Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or served a full engineering apprenticeship.
*Background in tissue/paper converting, printing, or similar industries would be advantageous.
*Significant practical engineering experience.
*Proven knowledge/experience of PLCs including Siemens S5 and S7.
*Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines (60/40 split).
*Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
*Significant experience of AC and DC motors and drives.
*Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal) at all levels.
*Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
