Position Overview:
Milk Education is currently suppporting a vibrant ’good’ school in Wandsworth and is seeking a dynamic and passionate Textiles Teacher to join their dedicated team. This part-time position (0.8FTE) is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Textiles educator to inspire and engage students in the world of textiles.
This will be a long term position to cover until the end of the academic year, starting Janruary 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver high-quality Textiles lessons to students across different year groups.
*Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
*Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work to support their academic progress.
*Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the Textiles curriculum.
*Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student performance.
Qualifications:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Textiles Education.
*Relevant degree in Textiles or a related field.
*Proven experience teaching Textiles at the secondary level.
*A valid and up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Skills and Attributes:
*Passion for textiles and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
*Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
*Effective communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
*Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
