Job Description:
Head of E-commerce and Trading to be responsible for the day to day trading and optimisation of customer journeys and conversions on our b2b website, customer portals and apps.
This role is based in Manchester and requires office working 2-3 days / week.
The role will plan and execute revenue generating leas gen activities and you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in value creation plans, introducing ecommerce and new tech.
The Head of Ecommerce and Trading will be responsible for:
Leading onsite commercial decisions and actions, in line with the Group commercial trading plan.
Drive commercial success through best in class ecommerce experiences for both prospects and clients
Own and deliver strategic guidance on web trading, site experience and in-app best practices
Implement growth strategies through A/B testing
Improve prospect and client experience and resultant conversions, in collaboration with the in-house UI/UX/CRO teams.
Ensure all site/portal redesign activities are in line with commercial and consumer needs through data and incorporating best in class digital usability.
Work closely with digital, brand and content teams to ensure consistency across all touch points.
Be responsible for third party solutions that deliver cross-sell and upsell product recommendations and sales.
Champion a test-and-learn process, ensuring you own and deliver incremental gains
Oversee the management of and continuously improve on-site search results by analysing usage and sharing insights with the wider digital team.
Develop, execute and report on trading strategies, to drive performance, achieve budgeted sales and onsite conversions.
Plan and lead product bundles, offers and promotions in collaboration with commercial and pricing teams
Manage weekly and monthly sales and performance reports, providing detailed analysis on key metrics including site performance, conversion rates, sales by product and all digital channels.
The successful Head of Ecommerce and Trading will have the following experience:
Welcomes change, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
Developed experience in a similar environment, preferability as part of a senior leadership team
Demonstrable experience in implementing successful online trading plans / campaigns and in driving business growth
Understanding of multiple digital marketing approaches including demand generation, search, SEO, UI/UX and CRO
Experienced in using analytics and reporting tools to identify trends and make data-led decisions
Determined, passionate, eager, helpful, supportive and confident in how you work across the commercial sales and marketing team
Excellent presentation and communication skills with high energy
Problem solving, providing solutions and playing an interactive role within a team environment
Ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships at all levels
Strong analytical skills to be able to measure and report on the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies
Excellent project management skills
Self-starter with a passion for developing and delivering digital/e-commerce marketing plans, to drive growth and create tangible ROI.
Target-driven and be able to build lasting relationships with internal stakeholders to shape and successfully implement all levels of e-comm and conversion-centric marketing activity.
Experience in managing websites, delivering e-commerce plans and driving business growth.
Ambitious and hungry to learn, with a genuine intrigue for industry trends and technologies, and strong analytical acumen.
