Job Description:
Allen Lane are delighted to be assisting Kent Fire & Rescue Service in their search for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
About the Role
The Senior Finance Business Partner will establish and lead the finance business partnering service, providing support to Budget Managers regarding their day-to-day budgets and longer-term financial planning. Working with stakeholders, this post will be responsible for collating accurate financial information on a timely basis for the Management Board and Fire Authority.
The Role
Reporting into the Deputy Head of Finance, you will be leading a team of 3 and be responsible for, but not limited to:
*Lead on the introduction of an effective finance business partnering function, providing support with monitoring of spend against budgets, forecasting and drafting long-term financial plans
*Provide training to colleagues in finance and Budget Managers on financial awareness
*Develop accurate reports for stakeholders, meeting their needs with data and evidence for decision making
*Provide financial analysis on benchmarking, cost-benefits etc.
*Work closely with Budget Managers and Service Leads to understand their cost drivers, understanding variables and impact on spend
*Support with the development of medium-term and 10-year capital expenditure plans
*Oversee the preparation of working papers for close down and various statutory and non-statutory returns
The Candidate
We are looking for candidates who are a qualified/part qualified accountant (CIPFA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), AAT qualified with substantial experience in finance business partnering and Excel skills at an intermediate level (pivots / lookups).
You will have experience of working under pressure, be able to demonstrate excellent communications skills and have a proven track record of effective decision making with excellent attention to detail.
This role offers a hybrid working model, on site at the Service Headquarters in Maidstone 3 days per week and 2 days working remote.
