Job Description:
Teqniq is searching for a Environmental Health Officer (Private Sector Housing Reactive) to work in the public sector.
36 hours per week.
3 months contract.
09:00-17:00
Job Description:
Scope of Work:
Addressing incoming residential complaints related to issues such as damp, mould, overcrowding, and general housing conditions.
Organizing and conducting property visits to carry out health and safety assessments.
Preparing and issuing closing letters or formal notices to communicate findings and required actions.
Applying housing legislation effectively to manage and resolve cases.
Collaborating with stakeholders, including tenants and landlords, to achieve compliance.
Supporting junior staff members by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Working Conditions:
The role will primarily be conducted in-office to facilitate site visits and efficient response management. There is flexibility for remote work 1-2 days per week for paperwork and documentation tasks.
Essential:
HHSRS Certificate.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role, dealing with private sector housing issues.
Strong working knowledge of key housing legislation and its application.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
Environmental Health Degree.
Experience issuing formal housing-related notices.
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.

Adaptable and knowledgeable, with a track record of handling residential housing complaints efficiently.
