The Junior Design Control Engineer role is a key position within our Engineering & Manufacturing department, requiring expertise in the Industrial / Manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

Description
As the Junior Design Control Engineer you will be tasked with the following;
*Control Panel Design:
Develop detailed electrical schematics and layouts using EPLAN Electric P8.
Design control panels for conveyor systems with Siemens (S7, TIA Portal) and Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) PLC hardware.
Create wiring diagrams, terminal layouts, and bill of materials (BOMs).
*PLC Integration:
Understand and implement PLC hardware configurations.
Collaborate with PLC programmers to ensure proper system integration.
*Component Selection:
Select appropriate components (circuit breakers, relays, power supplies, IO modules) in compliance with project requirements.
*Standards Compliance:
Ensure designs meet international and local standards (IEC, UL, NFPA).
Maintain strict adherence to safety and quality requirements.
*Collaboration:
Work closely with the senior design engineer, mechanical engineers, and production.
Address design feedback and modify panel layouts as necessary.
*Documentation:
Generate and maintain accurate technical documentation, including cable schedules, harness diagrams, and test plans.
Assist with as-built documentation and panel certification records.
Profile
A successful Junior Design Control Engineer should have:
*BTEC & HNC in Electrical Engineering as a minimum, Automation Engineering, or related field.
*Knowledge of Siemens PLCs (S7, TIA Portal) and Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
*Experience with electrical CAD platforms
*Familiarity with SCADA or HMI systems for conveyors.
