Job Description:
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for supporting school operations?
Do you have a strong administrative background, combined with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills?
Would you like to play a pivotal role in supporting the HR function of a school, helping to ensure smooth operations and the well-being of staff?
We are currently seeking a HR Administrative Assistant to join a well-established school in the Leeds area. This is a full-time role, offering £90 - £110 per day, with standard hours from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM from Monday to Friday. The role is due to start after half term, with interviews taking place soon, so an active DBS is preferred.
Responsibilities:
*Provide administrative support to the HR department, assisting with day-to-day HR operations.
*Manage staff records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with school policies.
*Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, and arranging interviews.
*Support the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed and induction paperwork is processed.
*Assist with payroll administration, ensuring accurate recording of attendance, leave, and overtime.
*Maintain the HR database, ensuring that employee information is securely stored and easily accessible.
*Prepare and process staff contracts, amendments, and other HR-related documentation as required.
*Handle staff queries related to HR policies, procedures, and documentation, providing clear and professional responses.
*Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for audits and HR reviews.
Requirements:
*Previous HR experience is essential, ideally within a school or education setting.
*Strong administrative skills, with experience in managing data, processing documents, and coordinating HR tasks.
*Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
*Good knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a school environment.
*Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels.
*IT proficiency, including experience with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
*Active DBS on the update service (preferred).
