Job Description:
We are looking for creative and passionate Commissioning Officers to join the office of the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and support our vision: "Working with partners and the public to deliver safer, stronger communities in West Mercia".
The core role of the PCC’s office is to ensure the voice of the public is reflected in policing. The PCC also allocates millions of pounds to community projects, victim services and crime prevention measures, and makes sure the police force has the funding it needs to deliver an efficient and effective service for the public.
The role would suit someone who has a passion for ensuring that public services are delivered effectively and efficiently, who is passionate about shaping services to support victims and reduce crime and has experience of working in a commissioning or procurement environment.
If successful, you’ll be responsible for: Working with the Commissioning team and wider office to commission a variety of services, responding to changing needs of the public and victims of crime, working with partners around joint commissioning, working with service providers to shape services, ongoing performance management of services, submitting bids for additional funding, closely working with the Policy and Communications & Engagement teams to both develop service provision and promote it.
*The Commissioning Officer role is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days office based.
