Job Description:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for Consultant Psychiatrist based in the heart of the community in Birmingham.
The post is within a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital for women over the age of 18, who may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs
The successful candidate will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients; supervising the process of referral and admission, including contribution to the pre-admission assessments of adults.
You will be part of a well-established and cohesive multi-disciplinary team which includes a; Speciality Doctor, Principal Psychologist, Senior Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Ward Manager and Recovery Support Workers
In taking on this role, you will be part of a visionary and inspiring team and will be joining a group of individuals whose main goal is to support our patients and their families with their recovery journey and to live their best life. The hospital works closely with NHS partners to ensure that patients safely transition from our service back into the community, with robust follow up support packages.
You will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with various mental health difficulties. Experience of working with service users with a forensic history would be advantageous. You will have prior experience at consultant level, including the ability to conduct training. You will continue to hold registration with the GMC including being on the special register for Psychiatry
