Job Description:
SEN Science Teacher
*Salary Range: Depending on experience
*Location: Maidstone
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join an Alternative provision in Maidstone.This role is ideal for a secondary science teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, whether transitioning from a mainstream environment or already experienced in PRU/SEMH/SEN settings.
Day to day of the role:
*Deliver engaging science lessons to secondary students within a PRU/SEMH/Alternative Provision setting.
*Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and create an inclusive learning environment.
*Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to students.
*Develop and implement individual education plans for students with special educational needs.
*Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary.
*Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
*Experience as a secondary science teacher.
*Ideally, experience in a PRU/SEMH/SEN environment.
*Ability to remain calm and compassionate while setting firm boundaries.
*Trustworthy, reliable, and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
