Job Description:
In partnership with Cheshire Schools, we are seeking Teaching Assistants to join the team as soon as possible.
The work is temporary initially, but an excellent ’foot-in-the-door’ opportunity, where you could gain a permanent role within the school further down the line.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 8.30am until 3.30pm term-time only.
About the Schools:
*The schools cater for students with additional needs, which include: Sensory and Physical Impairment, Cognition and Learning Needs such as SLD, MLD, SpLD, GDD, Communication and Interaction Issues, including ASC, ADHD and SEMH.
*Increased staffing and support, with a Class Teacher and at least 2 support staff per class.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
*Providing individual and group support to students with complex needs i.e., Autism, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD.
*Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, adapting materials and resources as necessary to meet the needs of individual students.
*Monitoring and recording student progress, feeding back to the class teacher and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
*Supporting students in accessing sensory activities and therapies.
*Liaising with parents and carers as required.
Qualifications and Experience (Desirable, but not Essential):
*Experience of working with children with additional needs in a school or educational setting.
*Knowledge and understanding of SEND.
*A positive and caring attitude, with the ability to provide support and care to students.
*Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
