Position: Medical Laboratory Assistant (Histopathology)
Pay Rates: £10 - £12 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement
Duration: ASAP until 31st March 2025
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
Band: 3

Key Responsibilities:
*Perform all routine tasks within a histopathology laboratory.
*Assist with the preparation and processing of tissue samples.
*Conduct microtomy, producing 25+ blocks per hour (standard and levels).
*Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
*Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
*Support senior staff with additional laboratory duties as required.
Required Skills:
*Proven experience in a histopathology laboratory.
*Proficiency in microtomy and familiarity with cutting techniques.
*Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
*Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
*Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:
*Relevant qualifications in laboratory sciences or a related field.
*Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
