Responsibilities:
*Provide individualised support to students with special needs, focusing on those who have experienced trauma.
*Assist the lead teacher in developing and implementing trauma-informed educational plans.
*Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic growth.
*Use therapeutic techniques to help students manage their emotions and behaviours.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
*Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
*Participate in professional development opportunities related to trauma and special education.
Qualifications:
*Previous experience working with children with special needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
*Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic techniques.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
*Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
*Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are preferred.
