The Role:
A top South East law firm is seeking an experienced Construction & Engineering Lawyer to join their growing team based in Guildford. About the Team:
The Construction team is part of a larger Real Estate department, consisting of 7 partners and 22 lawyers, recognized as a top-tier practice in Legal 500 and Chambers rankings. Known for its strong client relationships and responsive service, the team advises on a full spectrum of construction law matters and hosts regular client seminars and industry events.
The work includes:
*Contentious Matters: Adjudication, arbitration, and litigation in the TCC. Typical disputes include issues of payment, professional negligence, delay, and defective works.
*Non-Contentious Matters: Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and ancillary agreements, leading transactions, and providing ongoing project advice.
Client Base and Career Development:
This role offers exposure to an impressive client base, including employers, construction professionals, main contractors, and subcontractors. The successful candidate will work on quality projects, with opportunities to develop their own practice and network. Business development is encouraged, with team members participating in case law updates, workshops, and industry marketing.

Qualifications and Experience:
Ideal candidates will have:
*Experience in contentious construction matters (adjudication, arbitration, TCC litigation)
*Experience in non-contentious work (drafting and negotiating contracts, providing project advice)
*Strong interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, and high-quality experience from a reputable City or national/regional practice
*A genuine interest in the construction and engineering sector and a commitment to developing client relationships
