Our client, a leading company in the aerospace industry, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing supplier communication and ensuring timely deliveries. Summary:
*Start date: ASAP
*Duration: 6 months rolling contract with potential to become permanent!
*Location: Wolverhampton
*Pay Rate: £18 - £20.00 per hour depending on experience
*Hours: Mon - Thurs 8 - 16.45 Fri 8 -12 - Hybrid working available after initial training period
Responsibilities:
*Manage the order book for a variety of suppliers
*Raise and amend purchase/scheduled orders
*Resolve invoice queries and issue RFQs
*Provide critical updates on delivery status to key internal stakeholders
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues
*Keep escalation files updated with current information
*Review internal metrics to analyse and improve performance
*Work with Account Manager to develop solutions that drive the business forward
*Mitigate supply chain risks to prevent critical line stops
*Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams in meeting project timescales
*Collaborate with account managers and commodity managers on supplier strategy
*Negotiate with and manage cost for suppliers
*Facilitate stakeholder reviews and action outcomes
*Understand the production path and assist in improvements
Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong supply chain management skills
*Excellent relationship management abilities
*Proactive and organised approach
*Knowledge of SAP
*Effective communicator
*Data analysis skills
*Experience in supply chain or manufacturing planning desired
