Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Birmingham. The successful candidate will inspire and educate students in the field of religious studies, fostering an understanding and appreciation of various religious traditions and ethical perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
*Teaching: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in religious studies to students of varying abilities and ages.
*Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive religious studies curriculum that meets national standards and promotes critical thinking and respect for diverse beliefs.
*Assessment: Assess and evaluate students’ progress through assignments, exams, and other assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
*Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and maintains discipline.
*Pastoral Care: Support the social and emotional well-being of students, providing guidance and counselling as needed.
*Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and subject knowledge.
*Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to enhance the educational experience of students.
*Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to the school’s extracurricular programme by organising and participating in relevant activities, clubs, and events.
Qualifications:
*A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field.
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Previous teaching experience in religious studies is preferred.
*Strong knowledge of various religious traditions and ethical frameworks.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to inspire and motivate students.
*Commitment to promoting a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required for school events and extracurricular activities.
