Our client is an established chemical company who work in multiple fields of contract development/manufacturing, catalogue, customer synthesis, analytical and in house research. They are seeking a Sales Executive to initially join their team and become a key person in the technical team.
You will be working closely with chemists, procurement and finance departments of research institutions and chemical using companies on a global level. Responsible for supporting customers to fulfil their chemical requirements to further progress their R&D or Process Development projects.
The role will see you use a high level of customer service and technical support. Building long-term business relationships with the customer accounts with whom you are assigned.
What you’ll do:
• Handling technical enquiries received via the telephone and e-mail
• Managing, developing and growing an existing customer base, whilst also working proactively to expand the customer portfolio
• Presenting technical solutions to meet customer requirements
• Working and being part of a busy technical sales team meeting and exceeding activity expectations
• Liaising with clients and suppliers on a daily basis to drive the business forward
• Maintaining lines of communication with customers to keep them updated with respect to delivery schedules for their requirements
Your background:
• Graduate with Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc). Preference is for a Chemistry Degree, but other scientific qualifications will be considered, i.e. Physics, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, etc.
• Experience within a sales role, ideally within a scientific industry
• A well organised, attention to detail and a self-motivated individual
• Good knowledge of administrative procedures and attention to detail
• Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written on the basis many of the customers are international / overseas.
• Experience and competent with Microsoft Office software packages, i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.
• For long term career development, the ability and desire to travel across the UK and mainland Europe
• Ability to work under pressure with enthusiasm and remain focused
• A flexible can-do attitude with a willingness to adapt, learn and support fellow colleagues when required
