We are seeking a skilled Technical Author to support our growing Navy Systems team across the UK, France, Germany, and India. About the Role
As a Technical Author, you will play a key role in assisting our sales and engineering teams, ensuring all technical documents and offers align with Johnson Controls’ standards. Reporting directly to the Refrigeration Design Manager, you’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners, including military shipyards and subcontractors, to produce high-quality technical documentation that supports various naval projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with engineers to develop and update technical reports, specifications, and contractual documents.
* Assist the sales team in generating technical offers for new projects.
* Organize and maintain a comprehensive database of technical reports and documents.
* Proofread, edit, and refine documents to ensure clarity and alignment with company procedures.
* Support the purchasing team with precise technical equipment specifications.
* Provide technical support for spare parts and other Navy chiller-related tasks.
* Create efficient indexing tools for easy document retrieval.
What You’ll Need:
* Strong technical knowledge in industrial refrigeration, chilled water plants, and compressor technology.
* Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and general computer skills.
* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Fluency in English (French is a plus).
