We are working with a public sector organisation who are looking to employ a committed and meticulous Management Accountant to join their vibrant finance team. This position offers a hybrid working setup, allowing you to balance office and remote work. As a Management Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing financial operations and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
*Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
*Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
*Supervise and mentor a junior team member, providing guidance and support.
*Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide financial insights.
*Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
*Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
*Provide study support to junior team members, fostering their professional development.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
*Proven experience in management accounting or a similar role.
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
