SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Resource Provision (ARP)
Location: Primary School, Barking and Dagenham
Position Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and making a meaningful difference in their educational journey? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Good-rated primary school in Barking and Dagenham, working within their Autism Resource Provision (ARP).
Key Responsibilities: *Provide individualized support to children with autism in the ARP and, where appropriate, within mainstream classrooms.
*Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to each child’s needs.
*Support students’ academic progress and social development using creative and structured methods.
*Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to adapt lessons and activities for all learners.
*Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment for students.
*Monitor and report on student progress to inform ongoing support strategies.
What We’re Looking For: *Previous experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
*A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to helping children overcome challenges.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
*Knowledge of autism-specific strategies and techniques is highly desirable.
*Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are beneficial but not essential.
