Job Description:
Summary We’re looking for a Growing Support Consultant to help raise funds for the National Trust’s cause through promoting membership and on-site fundraising in the South West
What it’s like to work here You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, marketeers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Killerton near Exeter. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site (in and around Devon) for 40–60% of your working week.
What you’ll be doing You’ll develop guidance for colleagues on on-site fundraising, on leading for great service, and on recruiting and retaining members. You’ll help your colleagues based at Trust places to find innovative and creative ways to meet national targets, keeping an eye on progress and suggesting changes where needed.
You’ll work with others on plans to grow support, and you’ll always be on the lookout for strategic opportunities. You’ll use data to make informed decisions and contribute to individual business plans at National Trust sites.
As the expert in your area, you’ll be supporting your colleagues locally, in the consultancy and nationally. You’ll work with others to design and run training programmes that will build the confidence and capability of local teams, helping grow support for the Trust’s cause.
Who we’re looking for We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
•a leader for great service, able to inspire colleagues to give people the best experiences and grow support for the Trust’s cause
•experienced in developing hard-working teams and individuals through coaching, mentoring and training
•innovative and adept at using data to develop ambitious targets
•able to balance national objectives with operational priorities across varied sites
•a skilled communicator, who can build strong relationships within diverse teams, both internally and externally
•a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions
•proactive and organised, with experience of managing projects and a talent for multi-tasking and getting things done, strongly focused on detail, quality, cost and time
•a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture
The package The National Trust has the motto ’For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
•Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
•Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
•Rental deposit loan scheme
•Season ticket loan
•EV car lease scheme
•Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
•Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria.
•Flexible working whenever possible
•Employee assistance programme
•Free parking at most Trust places
