Job Description:
Senior Works Manager - Major Infrastructure Project - Plymouth
Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Senior Works Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Docks in Plymouth. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading joint venture.
Responsibilities:
*Oversee all aspects of construction operations on a specific section of the project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
*Lead and manage a team of site staff, including engineers, supervisors, and operatives, providing guidance and support.
*Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
*Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
*Identify and manage potential risks and issues, proposing solutions and corrective actions.
*Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and safety records.
* Work closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager to ensure project goals are met effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Senior Works Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.
*A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the infrastructure sector.
* Experience working on complex projects, ideally within a naval dockyard or similar environment.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience working with leading construction companies in the UK.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
* Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
