Job Description:
Our client one of the fastest growing manufacturing businesses in the region looking to appoint a logistics manager due to continued success within the business. As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising all aspects of logistical operations both in the UK and internationally. You will play a vital role in coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to ensure seamless supply chain processes. The role demands a strategic thinker who can develop efficient logistics strategies while managing day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end logistics process for both domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to optimise performance and cost efficiency.
Monitor and control logistics budgets, analysing costs and negotiating contracts to achieve savings.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce lead times.
Ensure compliance with all UK and international regulations, including customs procedures, import/export documentation, and transportation laws.
Develop and implement KPIs to track logistics performance and drive operational efficiency.
Address and resolve any logistical challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chains.
Collaborate closely with production, sales, and procurement teams to forecast demand and align logistics strategies.
Use data analysis tools and software (e.g., ERP systems) to optimize inventory levels, warehousing, and distribution processes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Logistics Manager, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
In-depth knowledge of UK and international logistics, customs regulations, and import/export processes.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proactive and strategic mindset.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient in logistics software and systems (e.g., MS Dynamics 365
