We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team as an Accounts Assistant in the shipping industry.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the finance department with various accounting tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the team in day-to-day financial activities.
Responsibilities:
*Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
*Process invoices, payments, and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.
*Reconcile financial statements, bank accounts, and credit card transactions.
*Support the finance team in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
*Collaborate with internal departments and external parties to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.
*Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
*Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
*Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Requirements:
*Previous experience working in an accounts assistant or similar role is highly desirable.
*Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practises.
*Proficient in using Sage and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
*Strong organisational and time-management skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
*Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
*A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
