Location: Northampton
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Wireman on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Wireman:
*Produce wiring harnesses from scratch using detailed technical drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality standards.
*Analyse and reconstruct existing wiring harnesses for repair or reproduction.
*Visit customer sites to troubleshoot and repair wiring harnesses, including those already installed in engines or equipment.
*Work on wiring solutions for diverse sectors such as railway systems, defence (MOD), heavy-duty machinery, and automotive vehicles.
*Inspect and test harnesses to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
*Maintain accurate records of work, including designs, revisions, and testing results.
Skills and Qualifications for the Wireman:
*Experience in wiring harness manufacturing and repair, including familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings.
*Strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring configurations.
*Skilled in using hand tools and machinery for wiring tasks.
*Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a focus on precision and quality.
*Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed.
*Knowledge of railway harness systems or MOD equipment is a plus.
