Job Description:
About Reall
Reall is an innovator and investor in climate-smart affordable housing in cities across Africa and Asia. Reall has worked in Kenya since 2007, delivering impactful initiatives within the sustainable cities and affordable housing impact space.
We work to unlock green affordable housing markets, demonstrating proof of concept housing developments, strengthening market data availability, supporting design innovation, pioneering new financial instruments and stimulating scaled investment. Reall is headquartered in the UK.
The Role
This role will build on Reall’s extensive track record and experience by developing a Global Advisory Service (GAS). The purpose of GAS will be to broaden and deepen our impact in the affordable housing sector, whilst simultaneously generating surplus income to invest in our data & evidence, green affordable housing finance, climate and gender mainstreaming, and other new innovations in the affordable housing sector.
We are already a Framework Contract Supplier for the Government of Kenya’s State Department for Housing and Urban Development (to provide Financial Consultancy Services for their Affordable Housing Programme) and have secured a small number of consultancy contracts to support other donors and governments.
You will be expected to:
*Establish an international consultancy roster that allows Reall’s GAS to shortlist vetted experts according to their geographical and thematic expertise, and experience of delivering programmes for major institutional donors, impact investors and DFIs
*Include a specific section within the roster for the Government of Kenya’s State Department for Housing and Urban Development. These experts will have relevant affordable housing finance expertise in Kenya/East Africa and should be ready for deployment with short notice.
We expect the project should be completed within 3 months, with a January start date.
Full details are in the job description and person specification, which are available by clicking through to apply for this role. Please note that you must have the right to live and work in the UK to be eligible to apply for this role.
Why work at Reall?
With a modest UK-based team, Reall is an organisation driven by efficiency, with comparatively huge ambitions and a track record of significant success.
Our internal operations are underpinned by a culture of psychological safety, promoting trust, curiosity, and confidence. This means that staff feel secure to speak their minds, tackle challenges creatively, and can never be described as risk averse.
A committed investor in its staff, Reall promotes an environment of conscious diversity in all its forms. You’ll be joining a high-performing, cohesive team with its sights firmly on global impact.
Reall is committed to equality, diversity and equal opportunities. We positively encourage applications from those who are suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion, or belief, as Reall believes a diverse and inclusive workforce is important for our organisation and will lead to greater results and enhance our way of working.
