The Team:
This is an outstanding opportunity to join the London-based EMEA Minerals & Fertilizer pricing team as it strengthens the number of pricing benchmarks in the global marketplace through transparency and greater market efficiency. Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in pricing, analytics and news to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets. This individual must be comfortable writing about pricing information and interpreting data. Being a team player is of utmost importance in this role.
Responsibilities and Impact:
We are seeking a price market reporter to drive fertilizer market news and market coverage across the EMEA region. The Price Reporter is expected to: *Assess daily and weekly value of fertilizer market products in EMEA, accurately and fully in line with our rigorous and well-known methodology.
*Survey market participants throughout the day publishing price updates that might be used in assessments.
*Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Platts’ methodology and ensure our methodology for markets is up to date.
*Launch new assessments and represent Platts at industry events such as conferences or in face-to-face meetings.
*Write supply-demand-pricing News Insights, Data and Event Analysis, Blogs, Interviews, Features, Factbox, etc.
*Engage with the industry to find and nurture new market sources; maintain a good relationship with existing sources; ensure source lists are up to date
*Work closely with colleagues across our global offices in London, Penang, and Sao Paolo
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications: *Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Agronomics, Sciences, Journalism or similar.
*Strong numeracy skills and the ability to apply basic math functions in Excel.
*A solid understanding of Economics and Commodities markets fundamentals.
*Fluent in English with excellent English writing skills.
*Strong communication skills that demonstrate good listening, clear writing style, and strong verbal skills. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.
*Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
*An ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
*Willingness to travel.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: *Experience in commodity trading and/or price reporting.
*Experience in Fertilizers & Minerals sectors.
*Additional language skills is an advantage
