Job Description:
up to £35,000 FTE
Flexible on Part time hours (2 full days per week, or split the hours across 4 days)
Based in East London, office based
Responsibilities
*Respond to basic client questions and requests via email or phone (e.g., meeting scheduling, document requests).
*Prepare and organise client-facing documents like financial statements, insurance policies, investment portfolios, and tax returns.
*Schedule client meetings and ensure advisors and paraplanners are fully prepared with relevant documents and reports.
*Input financial data into planning systems (e.g., income, expenses, assets, liabilities) using the firm’s financial planning software.
*Assist in generating simple financial reports (e.g., cash flow, net worth statements) from client data.
*Prepare preliminary drafts of financial reports or summaries for client meetings, ensuring all client details are up-to-date and accurate.
*Conduct research on investment products, insurance policies, tax-saving strategies, and other financial products that could be relevant to client plans.
*Help create or update financial proposals that include product recommendations
*Maintain both physical and digital filing systems to ensure client records are stored securely and are easily accessible.
*Assist with compliance-related activities such as updating client documents in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC - Know Your Client, anti-money laundering).
*Assist in preparing documentation for internal audits or compliance checks.
*Participate in internal training sessions on financial planning software, investment products, financial products, and paraplanning processes.
*Regularly shadow senior paraplanners and financial advisors to understand how financial plans are developed and reviewed.
*Pursue additional certifications and other professional development opportunities, as recommended by the senior team.

Path to Paraplanner:
Your role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to the world of financial planning. Here’s what you can expect as you develop:
Month 1-6:
Focus on learning internal processes, data entry, and administrative tasks. Work closely with financial advisors and paraplanners to understand client needs, financial reports, and products.
Goal: Master administrative tasks, learn basic financial products, and build your knowledge of the firm’s systems.
Month 6-12:
Start taking on more responsibility in preparing financial documents and reports. You will be exposed to more complex client scenarios, assisting paraplanners in creating detailed financial plans.Goal: Build a strong foundational knowledge of financial planning concepts and gain exposure to financial planning software.
Year 1+:
Begin shadowing paraplanners more regularly, participating in the full financial planning process, and taking on increasingly complex tasks. You may begin preparing financial strategies with oversight, conducting client meetings, and handling advanced product research. Goal: Be ready to transition into a paraplanner role within 1-2 years, with the necessary skills, experience, and certifications
