Exciting opportunity for a Senior Derivatives Commercial Advisor to join this global Energy company.

The Global Contracts Team is one of 7 units within the Trading Operations Division and provides a commercially driven service to the trading teams.
Job Description
• Acting as an SME providing expert advice to the business and supporting functions with regards to complex contractual arrangements/framework agreements/ISDA’s/Delegated Reporting, Broker, Service Level Agreements etc. ensuring compliance with both regulatory and company mandated requirements.
• Expert knowledge of Agreements associated with Derivatives trading. Including but not limited to ISDA agreements, CSA & VMCSA, Brokerage Agreements, Master and long form agreements.
• Advise traders of the commercial and contractual risk associated with their business and ensure that contracts/agreements drafted are fit for purpose.
• Provide advice and help in resolving contractual disputes with counterparties, liaising with corporate legal counsels as necessary.
• Maintain an awareness and advise on any new business opportunities or changes in regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate ad hoc agreements needed to facilitate new business and structured transactions.
• Establishing and maintaining an accurate and complete record of current and ongoing negotiations, providing visibility to necessary stakeholders
• Working knowledge of business and SOX Controls related to derivatives, ensuring compliance with GRA and external audit requirements.
• Provide pre and post deal commercial value driven advice and support to the business.
• Have a working knowledge of the confirmations processes and adherence to EMIR and other applicable regulations, able to step in and cover or advise when required.
• Ability and willingness to cover other members of the team when necessary.
Candidate Must have:
• Expert knowledge of regulations applicable to derivatives trading activity.
• Must have a good commercial mindset.
• Demonstrate effective negotiating skills and capable of managing the expectations of various stakeholders both internal and external.
• Demonstrate a flexible approach and be commercially orientated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must have the ability to priorities workload while adhering to tight deadlines.
This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
