Job Description:
Underwriting Technical Lead / Domain Architect
- Full time permanent position
- Leading global insurance company 
- Salary up to £110,000 plus bonus and benefits
- Hybrid working (Birmingham twice a week)
A global insurance business is currently looking for an Underwriting Technical Lead to join them on a permanent basis. This role will require working in the Central Birmingham office twice a week. The role will be responsible for the technical strategy that will enable the overall underwriting business strategy.
Duties will include:
- Overseeing technical aspects of the underwriting process (submission, automation, AI) and ensuring it aligns with objectives
- Designing software architecture of underwriting domain and managing technology delivery of development teams
- Define technical architecture roadmaps and guide implementation
- Support with development of underwriting strategy
- Work to enhance operational efficiency
- Identify workflows (pricing engines, policies, risk etc)
- Ensure the best is being achieved from internal and broker data
- Engage with third party suppliers
To be considered suitable you will need the following skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of the insurance sector and underwriting processes
- Technical background with domain architecture experience
- Methodologies and framework knowledge 
- System architecture, design patterns and software development methodologies
- Experience of AI Automation, data handling and data submission
- Understanding of broker integration and distribution processes
