Our client is a dynamic, mid-sized property management company specializing in prime and super-prime residential and mixed tenure schemes in central London. As the company continues to expand both organically and through acquisition, they are seeking a dedicated **Service Charge Accountant** to join their team during this exciting period of growth.
The Opportunity
The Service Charge Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records for a prestigious portfolio of properties in Mayfair. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to the Finance Director and key stakeholders, ensuring internal and external deadlines are met. This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-profile team, making a significant impact on the company’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing budget packs and collaborating with Property Relationship Managers (PRMs), General Managers (GMs), and clients throughout the budgeting process.
- Producing year-end audit packs, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for service charge accounts.
- Delivering consistent, high-quality periodic financial reporting for clients.
- Reconciling bank accounts monthly and conducting regular financial reviews.
- Responding to finance-related lessee queries and ensuring financial documentation is accurate for new schemes or pre-sales packs.
- Managing ground rent funds and maintaining an understanding of financial clauses within leases.
- Updating and maintaining internal systems, such as Qube and MS Teams Planner, with 100% accuracy.
- Supporting compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, ensuring properties are safe and compliant.
