Job Description:
Do you have strong knowledge of biology and the ability to communicate it effectively to students?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher with a focus on Biology to join our team in Preston, teaching KS3 and KS4 students. Competitive daily rates of £155 to £230 are available, depending on your qualifications, experience, and teaching expertise.
Your role will involve preparing students for exams, assessing their progress, and providing the support they need to achieve their full potential. You will also deliver engaging and interactive lessons, using practical experiments and real-world examples.

Responsibilities:
*Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
*Strong knowledge of the curriculum
*Punctual and reliable
*Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
*Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
*Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
*Set homework and mark promptly
*Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
*Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
*Respond to questioning
*Supervise and support students in laboratory experiments and research projects.
Preferred skills:
*Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
*Strong classroom management
*Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
*Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
*Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience
Personal attributes:
*You will have a genuine passion for teaching
*Experience up to key stage 3/4
*QTS/PGCE equivalent
*Be flexible and committed
