Swindon
Full time - Permanent
Monday - Friday
Salary is dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator from a Civil Engineering background to join our client based at their Swindon Head Office.
Role Responsibilities:
*Responsible for estimating all project lifecycle stages, concept, study and detailed design.
*Prepare comprehensive bids and tender submissions within the required deadlines.
*Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, overheads and subcontractor services for all projects.
*Conduct take-offs and quantity surveys from drawings calculating material and labour costs.
*Produce subcontractor enquiry schedule, obtaining suggestions/feedback from the tender team, procurement department and contractor schedules.
*Prepare full project estimates from conceptual design and prepare estimate reports.
*Foster internal and external relationships with staff, clients, engineers, stakeholders and attend meetings.
*Conduct ongoing market research on current costs of material, rates and trends within the industry and negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
*Engineering degree desirable / certification or equivalent
*Minimum of 5 years Estimator experience
*Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen
*Civil engineering project experience
*Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office including advanced excel
*Highly organised, accuracy and attention to detail
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Proactive, strategic and a multitasker
*Integrity to handle confidential information
*Previous experience in Rail is preferred.
