Job Description:
Commercial Manager / Senior QS
*Annual Salary: Dependant on experience
*Location: Home & Field Based, Occasional office
*Job Type: Full-time
Join our client who are a leading company in the design, engineering, and installation in the pharma space. As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activities across the group, ensuring the financial health and smooth operations of their projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare applications and invoices for various projects.
*Prepare and value variations, early warning notices, and compensation events.
*Review contracts at both tender and order stages to ensure compliance and profitability.
*Provide commercial reviews of ongoing contracts, report to the commercial director, including cash flow forecasting and project budgeting against costs.
*Prepare, negotiate, and agree on final accounts with clients.
*Monitor contracts against programme and issue delay notices/claims as appropriate.
*Attend client commercial meetings to discuss and resolve financial issues.
*Assist the estimating department by providing material take-offs and quotations.
*Visit sites to monitor progress of works and assist project managers in ensuring projects are completed as per the contractual terms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong knowledge of the construction industry, ideally with a mechanical bias.
*Knowledge of construction law / Clear understanding of NEC and other forms of contracts.
*Excellent financial and numeracy management skills.
*Proficient in negotiation and communication.
*Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
*High level of computer literacy, especially with MS Office suite.
