The role
We are looking for a EICR Electrician to join our team here at Southwark.
The purpose of the role is to contribute and support the growth and success of the business unit through solid working practises. Demonstrating excellent operational skills whilst providing skilled workmanship within the building trades as part of a multidisciplinary team maintaining, servicing and improving the council’s housing and property stock.
Southwark Repairs provides 24 hours, seven day a week repairs and maintenance services to the residents of Southwark Council housing stock. The service delivers approximately 50,000 individual repair orders and over 1000 refurbishments to void properties each year.
Responsibilities include:
*Providing knowledge, understanding and execution of installation, repairs and maintenance, inspection of equipment of operational buildings, features and fittings within housing managed stock and infrastructure.
*Completing a range of Repair & Maintenance work to a professional standard and highly productive level, acting with minimum supervision and a large degree of self-management to achieve right first time within a customer focused service.
*Carrying out testing and certification of the installation, to include the recording and verification of safe working installations to the wiring regulations (BS 7671). Working within regulated work areas the post holder will be required to participate in the certification of installations works under the NICEIC.
*Maintaining a level of knowledge and skill necessary to effectively perform the duties of the post and comply with any appropriate standards of continuing professional development.
