Job Description:
We are looking for an Estimator on behalf of an Electrical Contractor in Kent.
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the tender process by providing accurate and reliable cost estimates for various projects. You will consider the construction methods and all relevant factors that may impact the project delivery, from planning to completion. You will ensure that the bids are competitive and compliant with the client’s standards, objectives and vision.
As an Estimator, you will:
*Analyse project tender documents, plans, and specifications to grasp project requirements.
*Lead and manage the bid process from start to finish, which will require coordinating departments and ensuring bids are compliant and timely, following the appropriate corporate governance procedures.
*Review the proposed contract terms and conditions and liaise with the Commercial department to assess them.
*Formulate a comprehensive bid strategy that matches the company’s capabilities and goals and follows the client’s Delegated Authorities.
*Prepare prequalification technical responses and technical tender submissions, ensuring they are structured, well-written, technically sound and professionally presented.
*Develop detailed cost loaded project programmes that include key milestones, critical path and client/stakeholder/subcontractor requirements.
*Submit controlled and timely tender queries & RFI’s, compile relevant assumptions, clarification, inclusion and omissions.
*Research and stay updated with new and innovative processes and methods of construction that could be applied within bids.
*Join site visits with the delivery team to help devise overarching methodology.
*Must either have an Electrical background or understanding of Electrical drawings and pricing them.
