Systems Implementation Manager (WMS & TMS)
Skelmersdale
£55,000 + £5,000 car allowance
Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for leading transformative systems projects? We are looking for an experienced Systems Implementation Manager to oversee the successful delivery of systems-related implementations across a dynamic and evolving business. This is a pivotal role, offering the chance to work collaboratively across departments to drive change, ensure project success, and embed a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The Candidate;
*Previous experience within a logistics, warehouse or transport projects team
*Previous experience with working with, implementing and training on WMS / TMS systems
*Proven experience in e-commerce and Omni-Channel environments with diverse propositions and product bases.
*Experience of ManData & Cloud X is highly advantageous
*Expertise in WMS, TMS, ERP systems, and system integrations/interfacing.
*Background in the 3PL sector, with hands-on experience in startup environments, including infrastructure setup, team training, and stabilisation.
*Demonstrated ability to lead change and embed best-practice methodologies in live operations.
*Strong planning skills, capable of aligning detailed roadmaps with strategic goals.
*Experience managing complex projects in high-volume, service-focused environments.
*Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, able to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
*Results-driven with a calm, proactive approach to challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities;
*Strategy Development: Create and implement a systems strategy to meet customer and industry expectations, supporting the organisation’s objectives.
*Project Leadership: Manage complex projects from specification through to stabilisation, ensuring governance, coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
*Performance Reporting: Deliver comprehensive reporting at all organisational levels, including dashboards, balanced scorecards, and detailed insights.
*E-commerce and Omni-Channel Systems: Support the development of cutting-edge systems to enhance the business’s transition into Omni-Channel Logistics.
*Process Improvement: Drive the adoption of Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies, including process mapping, risk management, and control planning.
*Change Management: Lead organisational change to improve operational efficiencies, supported by senior leadership.
*Relationship Building: Cultivate strong partnerships with project sponsors, customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
*Cost Management: Manage system-related costs to achieve year-on-year financial improvements.
*Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of innovation and best-in-class operations across the organisation.
*Managing the technical configuration of the sites Warehouse Management Systems to maximize productivity and service levels
*Ensuring that the WMS interfaces efficiently with other Supply chain systems
*Guiding and supporting the team to carry out analysis and investigation to find possible cause to incidents and escalate as required
*Providing regular reporting to senior management detailing the progress of systems project and a review if any Major IT incidents
*Developing close working relationships with Central IT functions to raise awareness of the NDC business plan and creating opportunities to help its delivery
*Applying a Continuous Improvement Method to the work of the team and contribute to any site lead Continuous Improvement events
*Establishing a process to review and optimise Systems through effective and regular communication with key stakeholders.
*Challenging existing processes and practices and implementing initiatives to drive continuous improvement
