Job Description:
Social Worker (Children & Families)
Location: South East of England

The Role:
As a Social Worker, you’ll manage a caseload of varying complexities, providing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of actions that promote the welfare of children and families.

Your responsibilities will include:
*Handling diverse and complex Children & Families cases.
*Partnering with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to secure positive outcomes.
*Producing high-quality assessments, reports, and care plans while adhering to best practices and relevant legislation.
*Staying updated on child development theories and their application to practice.
*Representing children’s welfare in court when required.
*Supporting foster carers and adoptive parents in specialised teams (where applicable).
*Contributing to training initiatives and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications:
*Degree in Social Work (DipSW or equivalent).
*Registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
*Completion of ASYE if post-qualification exceeds two years.

Experience:
*Proven experience in Children & Families social work.
*Familiarity with systemic models of practice, such as Signs of Safety.

Skills and Abilities:
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*Ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
*Competence in report writing and high-quality assessments.
*Familiarity with child protection, fostering, adoption, and related legislation.
*Confidence in navigating court settings.

Knowledge:
*Solid understanding of attachment theory, child development, and family dynamics.
*Knowledge of legislation and policies regarding Looked After Children, Children in Need, and safeguarding.
