Job Title: Roofing Tutor
Location: Construction Training Centre
Reports to: Head of Training
Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 per annum
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Roofing Tutor to join our expanding training team at the Construction Training Centre. As part of a leading training provider, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality instruction to level 1 and 2 Roofing students, both in practical and theoretical settings. This position involves supporting learners throughout their training journey, ensuring they develop essential skills and achieve industry-recognized qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver apprenticeships and vocational training standards in Roofing.
*Conduct initial assessments to determine learners’ starting points and tailor learning plans accordingly.
*Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and schemes of work.
*Assess learners’ performance in practical and theoretical settings.
*Maintain regular contact with employers to support learners and monitor their progress.
*Accurately record learner data using e-portfolios and paper-based systems.
*Facilitate regular progress reviews and provide support to learners to help them meet their goals.
*Deliver training sessions on a 1:1 and group basis, both face-to-face and online.
*Ensure adherence to internal quality assurance procedures to maintain assessment standards.
*Provide feedback on learner progress, retention, and achievement to curriculum development teams.
*Engage in ongoing professional development to keep current with industry trends and educational practices.
Qualifications, Competence & Behaviours:
*A Level 3 qualification in a relevant construction trade (e.g. Roofing, Carpentry).
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Industry experience and knowledge in Roofing and other construction trades.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Evidence of relevant teaching or training qualifications (e.g. PTLLS, AET).
*Satisfactory references and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
*Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
