Job Description:
Legal Secretary
*Annual Salary: £23000 - £26,000
*Location: Plymouth
*Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
My client is seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and has a keen interest in the legal field. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support legal proceedings, enhance office effectiveness, and communicate with clients.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Typing and filing legal documents to ensure they are accurate and well-organised.
*Keeping all legal and client records up to date.
*Managing diary and scheduling to ensure efficient time management.
*Handling phone calls, taking messages, and ensuring all communications are recorded and appropriately distributed.
*Preparing necessary paperwork and court forms for legal proceedings.
*Conducting thorough legal research to assist with case preparation.
*Experience with dictation and audio typing
*Liaising with clients to maintain good relations and ensure they are informed of case progress.
*Attending court and police stations as required to assist lawyers.
*Managing and submitting expenses for legal processes and travel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a legal secretary or similar administrative role.
*Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols.
*Excellent typing skills and proficiency in using office software such as MS Office.
*Strong organisational and time management skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
*Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Attention to detail and professional discretion.
