Job Description:
Are you a dynamic leader with a strong background in manufacturing? Our client, a global leader in precision engineering, is seeking a skilled Assistant Production Shift Manager to support operations at their state-of-the-art facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring production excellence, compliance with health and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement within the team.
The Assistant Production Shift Manager will work closely with the Production Shift Manager to oversee operations and ensure that production targets are met while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
You’ll lead by example, managing resources, fostering teamwork, and driving process improvements to deliver exceptional results.

Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours p/week (6-2, 2-10, 10-6)
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Production Shift Manager:
*Uphold and promote adherence to all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures
*Manage and develop a high-performing production team through robust training, engagement, and leadership practices
*Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet production schedules
*Drive productivity improvements and implement cost-effective manufacturing methods
*Maintain and enhance 5S standards across the production area
*Monitor performance metrics, address underperformance, and escalate issues as needed
*Lead initiatives to improve processes, increase productivity, and ensure equipment optimisation
What We’re Looking For
*Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within manufacturing (Familiarity with managing multiple departments/processes is advantageous)
*IOSH Managing Safely qualification is desirable
*A formal leadership qualification (e.g., ILM Level 3) is preferred
*Experience in quality management systems
*Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities with a focus on maintaining safety and quality standards
*A passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality results consistently
