Early Years Teacher
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Early Years (EY) teacher for a special school in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children with additional learning needs. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of nursery aged children. The EY teacher will play a vital role in leading this small class and will be supported by teaching assistants.
Duties
*Lead and manage daily activities within the classroom, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children
*Observe and assess children’s development, maintaining accurate records to track progress
*Promote social, emotional, and physical development through play-based learning experiences and in line with the requirements of the EY national curriculum
*Ensure compliance with school health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times
Qualifications / Skills
*Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting is essential
*A recognised qualification in EY teaching is essential
*A calm and positive manner
*Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
*A genuine passion for early years education and child development
*Knowledge of current early years frameworks and best practices in childcare
