A social worker in Islington’s Children in Need (CIN) service is responsible for:

*Assessing needs: Evaluating the needs, capabilities, and circumstances of children and their families 
*Developing plans: Creating care plans and implementing them 
*Providing support: Guiding children and families to promote positive outcomes 

*Maintaining records: Keeping accurate records of case interactions and decisions 

*Collaborating: Working with other professionals, agencies, and services 

*Prioritizing safety: Ensuring child protection is always a priority 

*Identifying risks: Analyzing risks and protective factors 

*Advocating: Requesting resources and services to meet the client’s needs 

*Communicating: Conveying sensitive information to children, families, professionals, and courts 

*Educating: Helping children and their families understand their rights and responsibilities
