Job Description:
Role Overview
Savills are looking for an ALO to assist in the construction phase of a nationally significant infrastructure project located near Ipswich. You will use your knowledge and experience in agriculture and infrastructure to assist in the successful delivery of this project. You will be based out of our client’s site office near Ipswich working alongside our client and supporting the Savills’ project team.
General duties will include liaising with landowners and their agents, facilitating works including arranging access for the principal contractor, progress monitoring and record keeping, and ensuring the contractor is adhering to their project obligations and responsibilities relating to land.
This is a full time role (5 days per week) but flexible working is possible. The role is Ipswich based, reasonable costs for accommodation during the week could be agreed and would be covered by our client.
Key Responsibilities
*Liaise with third party stakeholders on behalf of client regarding land and land drainage matters e.g. landowners and tenant farmers.
*Arrange and undertake pre-entry records of condition of fields including identification of existing crops and drainage issues.
*Ensure contractors are aware of agreement provisions and adhered to and manage the lands agreements including pre construction requirements, soil handing, and appropriate reinstatement methodology with landowners in conjunction with client Lands team.
*Follow up on requests from landowners for existing land drainage and construction related drawings.
*Discuss accommodation works with landowners - e.g. water troughs for stock, accesses, water supplies, fencing etc.
*Assist the project team in discussions re crossing points, including installation, maintenance and removal.
*Keeping landowners advised about construction matters and project requirements.
*Interpretation of construction drawings relative to land rights mapping.
*Assist the construction team in all matters regarding land access.
*Assist the project team with boundary removal and reinstatement specifications.
Key Skills
* Have a full UK driving licence.
*Have a foundation knowledge of agriculture and rural affairs.
*Be an excellent communicator with the willingness to learn and develop.
*Are self-motivated and organised.
*A team player and have a can-do attitude.
*Have the ability to problem solve.

The Infrastructure Projects team is a single department covering the whole of the UK. It consists of over 60 staff located throughout the country at entry level to those with over 30 years’ experience.
