Kitchen/Domestic Assistant
At Black Swan Care Group, we are currently looking for a kitchen/domestic assistant to work in one of our residential care facilities, Valentine House on a full time, 35 hour permanent contract, £12.00 per hour.
Valentine House is a residential care facility for the elderly and residents living with dementia located in Silver End, a small village in Essex, between Braintree and Witham.

Responsibilities of a Kitchen/Domestic Assistant
*Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom. Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock. Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed.
*Washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients and using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters.
*Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans and observing cooking times and correct temperatures.
*Ensure all rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the building and assist residents who wish to participate in the cleaning of their bedrooms.
*Make sure domestic supplies are ordered and stock control records are kept and are up to date. Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and kept in good working order.
*Follow good hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the building as set down by the Health and Hygiene Authorities and ensure that the storage of all cleaning materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy. (Ensure you maintain the Environmental Cleaning Schedule and checklist found in the Infection Control and Cleaning File.)
