Committed to promoting fairness, transparency, and responsible lending practices, it oversees compliance with voluntary lending codes, supports firms in improving their standards, and prioritises consumer protection.
As a member of the Executive team and leader of the Compliance and Insight team, the Director of Compliance and Insight will be pivotal in helping build the business across three business-critical areas; Compliance and Assurance Monitoring, Insights and Innovation and Business Development. This role is fully remote with a scheduled company day once a month based in London.

About the role:
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing compliance and assurance activities, driving insight-driven strategies, and contributing to business development initiatives. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering strategies enhance customer outcomes, and promote industry-wide improvements.
*Oversee the reporting of actionable insights from compliance reviews to drive improvement across registered firms.
*Collaborate with Policy teams to strengthen standards and customer protections
*Develop and lead a compliance monitoring strategy leveraging advanced quantitative and qualitative methodologies
*Lead the organisation’s insights strategy to address risks and challenges impacting consumers and SMEs.
*Oversee research projects (qualitative and quantitative) to assess and improve customer outcomes.
*Disseminate insights and best practices across registered and non-registered firms to foster customer-centric approaches.
*Represent the organisation as a thought leader at industry events and forums.
*Support the strategy to increase firm registrations and retain existing members.
*Lead due diligence processes for new registrants during interim registration phases.
*Identify opportunities for partnerships, alliances, and profile enhancement to grow the organization’s impact.

About you:
*Proven experience in compliance, risk, or audit within UK retail or SME financial services.
*In-depth understanding of the UK’s credit regulatory and financial services landscape
*Strong analytical skills
*Experience in implementing dashboards, benchmarking tools, or similar reporting mechanisms.
*Proven understanding of FAC regulations
*Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and engage at industry events.
*Demonstrates professional, collaborative, and innovative behaviours
