Management Accountant (Finalist)
Wandsworth, London
Salary up to £55,000 (depending on relevant experience
Hybrid role (3 days per week in the office)
Permanent, full-time role
Cedar have partnered with an instantly recognisable retail brand who are hiring for a Finalist Management Accountant for their UK head office in London. This well-established company has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, driven by strategic acquisitions, cementing its position as a household name in both the UK and international retail markets.
Previous retail and stock experience within a management accounts role would be advantageous, however, not essential.
Responsibilities:
Month-End Reporting:
*Manage monthly processes for reporting stock and related balances across multiple brands, including
*Stock on hand
*Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
*Goods in transit
*Stock provisions and adjustments
*Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts, such as accruals, prepayments, and capitalized freight costs.
*Deliver monthly stock balance reports to stakeholders.
*Oversee payroll processing for central teams and store staff, ensuring accurate bonus and incentive accruals while investigating variances against forecasts.
*Support additional month-end close activities and provide analytical insights as required.
Year-End Activities:
*Act as a primary contact for external auditors, addressing queries and providing necessary documentation.
*Assist in preparing statutory account disclosures and related notes.
Other Duties:
*Work closely with the finance systems team to ensure seamless ERP integrations with the accounting platform.
*Provide guidance and training to junior team members, fostering skill development.
Person specification
*Finalist PQ Accountant (CIMA/ACCA).
*Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and related functions.
*Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
*Positive, adaptable, and eager to take on new challenges and projects.
*Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
*Experience in retail or multi-site operations is a plus but not essential.
