A premier global law firm is looking is for a commercial and ambitious individual with a proven track record working as a client relationship professional to join its dynamic team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis, to take responsibility for the management of relationships with a number of global strategic clients and for certain key projects and initiatives.

The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central groups, such as communications and the professionals working in local offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.
You will be part of the Private Capital BD team, which is one of the firm’s key strategic priorities, and you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful growth of relationships with private capital clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to take a lead role in a sizeable and strategically central practice area in a role with a global remit, working with partners across the firm’s global network. Keeping current on all commercial and legal issues affecting the private capital market, you will coordinate the firm’s global CRM approach and strategy across assets and geographies, to enable coverage of the full range of private capital organisations in all asset classes. A key aspect of this role will be focusing on revenue growth with private capital clients in practice groups and geographies in which the firm has hitherto not had frequent involvement. The role holder will work alongside global relationship partners to implement retention and targeting initiatives to strengthen relationships between clients and the firm with the aim of progressively increasing client revenue streams or share of wallet and profitability. Managing the production of client-related business analysis, you will be expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the structure, operations and strategic direction of clients. You will identify their key strategic priorities and lead on the development and implementation of strategic and tactical relationship management plans for a number of key clients, building an understanding of how and where the firm can best position itself in relation to these clients, and leading on the development and implementation of strategic and tactical relationship management plans. The successful applicant will meet with clients regularly, whether formally as part of client relationship management or informally at firm events, and use these interactions to improve the firm’s relationship with the client and to improve the firm’s marketing. The Senior Client Relationship Manager will also be tasked with developing a client listening approach and carrying out client listening activities.
Professional, politically astute and proactive, the ideal candidate will have substantial relevant business development and marketing experience gained within a professional or financial services organisation, to include a measurable track record of achieving strategic business objectives and demonstrable success in working with senior management and of managing and developing the careers of more junior team members. With a high attention to detail and strong client focus, the Senior Client Relationship Manager will enjoy working to deadlines, juggling multiple projects and delivering under pressure, and will require excellent communication and persuasion skills in order to motivate fee-earners to deliver business goals. Previous private capital marketing experience would also be highly advantageous, whilst enthusiasm to develop an ongoing, in-depth understanding of the global market, deals, the key players, the competition, and the structures and approaches involved in this area will be essential.
