Our client
We are delighted to be working with a market leading and highly innovative engineering business to recruit an EC&I Engineer. They design, manufacture and commission highly complex industrial equipment. This is a new position created to support their ongoing success.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Lead, you will join an experienced team and work closely within a multi disciplinary Engineering department.
You will be involved in the full life cycle of projects from the client requirements to design, development, installation, test, customer acceptance, documentation, training and occasional after sales support.
Responsibilities include:
*Using CAD to design and produce top level system diagrams, interconnecting wiring drawings, and detailed electrical, control & instrumentation schematics
*Using CAD to design and produce engineering data including Bill of Materials, General Arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
*Design of interactive, ergonomic control stations for machinery operators (touchscreen, HMI, tactile controls, display, and audio systems)
*Design of power and control panels
*Design of motor control centres
*Design of low voltage power distribution systems
*Design of dedicated high voltage power distribution systems
*Earthing & Earth bonding
*Sizing and selection of power system components (Motors, starters, drives, transformers, switchgear etc)
*Cable sizing and type selection, glanding and routing
*Electrical safety systems and interlocks
*Design of distributed control systems (PLC, SCADA)
*Design of low voltage and extra low voltage control circuits
*Maintenance and updating of Bills of Materials and parts database
*Creation of Functional Design Specifications in conjunction with other Engineers (Mechanical, Hydraulic, Software, Electrical/Electronic)
*Machine Risk Assessment and design of safe equipment
*FMEA/FMECA analysis
*Design reviews
*Project reviews
About you
The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering or similar relevant subject. Applicants with HNC/ HND level qualifications and additional industry experience are also welcomed.
You will be a highly motivated and driven Engineer, keen to contribute and offer expertise to the team.
You will be able to work on complex projects with changing priorities and be able to collaborate well with colleagues as well as externally.
Hybrid working is offered after a probationary period.
