Job Description:
Our client, a key player in the aerospace industry, is seeking a diligent Graduate Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in finance and accounting.
Key Responsibilities: *Assisting with the processing and settlement of supplier and customer invoices
*Handling financial reporting and bookkeeping tasks
*Promoting a safe workplace environment and adhering to policies.
*Accurately clocking time and job cost bookings
*Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Role Specific Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
*Printing and processing invoices and credit notes
*Building and maintaining supplier relationships
*Co-managing the shared AP inboxes
*Responding to supplier and internal queries effectively and promptly
Accounts Receivable:
*Preparing, reviewing, and distributing sales invoices
*Resolving invoice queries and disputes
*Liaising with customers to ensure timely cash receipt
*Monitoring payment status of invoices
Financial Reporting and Bookkeeping:
*Supporting VAT return preparation and analysis
*Posting bank and loan transactions, and updating cashbooks
*Reconciling bank statements
*Monitoring fixed asset spend versus forecast
*Updating fixed asset register and posting depreciation
*Supporting external audit requests
*Collaborating with other departments and key stakeholders
Job Requirements: *Experience working in an accounts payable function with high volume invoice processing
*Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Excel and Outlook
*Working knowledge of financial reporting software
Desirable:
*Experience with Tropos and Coda is advantageous but not essential
Key Competencies: *Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Strong time management and organisational skills
*Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Mathematical, accounting, data analysis, and data entry aptitude
*Problem-solving abilities
